Vanja Radaus was born on 29. 4. 1906 in Vinkovci. He died on 24. 4. 1975. in Zagreb.
He studied sculpturing at the Art Academy in Zagreb (R. Valdec, R. Franges, I. Mestrovic).
After having graduated he left to Paris and stayed there for one year.
In the period 1932-1934 he took part in the exhibitions of the association “Zemlja”.
In 1939 he completed the monument to the fighters died in the 1st world war on Zagreb cemetery Mirogoj, and this same year he had his first one-man exhibition in Salon Ulrich in Zagreb.
Since 1945 he was professor at Art Academy and since 1947 he was the member of Academy of Sciences and Arts.
Till 1955 he created several monuments to the fighters died during Liberation War. After that his artistic world was expressed in numerous sculptures, paintings and graphic, which were dispalyed at the exhibitions in Zagreb, Osijek, Vinkovci, Vukovar, Rijeka, Ljubljana and other.
